Chapter 12 begins with a discussion of three groups of people who exert considerable influence on the components and direction of reform efforts. Discuss each of these groups and identify the ways in which they influence reform. Describe their likely influences on teachers in your discipline. With which specific aspects of three "special interest groups" do you most disagree? (Or, if you do not disagree, substitute the aspects with which you most agree.) Explain your perspectives.
