Sprayed bentonite is bentonite clay mixed with a modified asphalt that serves as an adhesive to bond the clay to a surface is applied by spraying. A 3/8 in. (10 mm) membrane is built up for normal applications, but thicker layers can be used for situations in which hydrostatic pressure is severe.
