Students should select any three of the following five commitments and explain how they plan to implement the commitment into their professional life.
a . Commit to being a lifelong learner. Student should explain how they will continue to learn from multiple sources of knowledge throughout their career, both within the school and outside. Examples may include professional development, workshops, conferences, and graduate work.
b. Use the curriculum responsibly. Student should explain how they will decide how to implement the curriculum, including actively making choices that allow them to best meet the needs of their learners.
c. Cross your own familiar barriers and beliefs to meet the needs of all learners. Student should explain the importance of embracing diversity and how they will take steps to make sure no student is marginalized.
d. Meet the needs of the individual students. Student should provide examples of how they will meet the unique needs of individual students. Examples may include providing a variety of teaching methods, grouping students, and finding motivation for each student.
e. Actively contribute to the profession. Student should explain the importance of being an active teacher, seeking to make advancements and improvements in all areas of education.
