How does being monolingual place our nation at a disadvantage?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: For example, This puts us at a disadvantage in the global marketplace with countries where citizens grow up learning and using more than one official language. Children grow up in these countries speaking multiple languages, having knowledge about other cultures and the ability to learn to adapt to different cultures. By not routinely educating our students in a second language we lose out on the great benefits of learning about other cultures.
