What is the difference between a mercury thermometer and a dial thermometer?

What will be an ideal response?

A mercury thermometer encloses liquid mercury in a hollow glass rod to indicate temperature. Any change in temperature makes the mercury expand or contract.A dial thermometer is similar, but it has a needle that shows temperature. This type of thermometer is often used to check the output of an air-conditioning system. It is inserted into the center vent, with the system and blower on high. If the reading is too warm (above specifications), the system is not cooling properly.
