Starting with the aorta, list the seven different blood vessels in the human body in order

What will be an ideal response?

Answer:
1. Aorta: The aorta is the largest blood vessel in the human body; carries oxygenated blood to the arteries.
2. Arteries: Arteries are branch off of the aorta; provide oxygenated blood to the smaller arteries, the arterioles.
3. Arterioles: Arterioles are the smallest arteries, and lead to capillaries.
4. Capillaries: Capillaries are the connecting link between arterioles and venules; deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues and receive carbon dioxide and other wastes from the tissues.
5. Venules: The now deoxygenated blood continues into the venules, the smallest veins, and then into larger veins.
6. Veins: Carry deoxygenated blood back toward the heart, culminating into the superior and inferior venae cavae.
7. Venae cavae: The superior and inferior venae cavase deliver systemic deoxygenated blood to the right atrium.
