One type of articulation therapy is called traditional therapy. Describe the purpose and the process of this therapy approach
What will be an ideal response?
Traditional articulation therapy uses a three-component model of treatment that focuses on establishment, generalization, and maintenance. In establishment, the clinician teaches the child how to correctly produce the sound. In generalization, the child learns to use that sound in words and sentences within the therapy room. In maintenance, the child is able to correctly produce the sound during speech away from the therapy room without cues, or prompts, from the parents.
