Discuss the development of a data backup and recovery strategy and give an example.

What will be an ideal response?

Every organization should develop a strategy for backups to ensure it can recover valuable data. An organization, particularly a larger organization, might adopt a strategy to perform a full backup once a week, such as at the end of the work week or on Saturdays. On all other work days, it might perform incremental backups. If the disk subsystem fails, the last full backup would be restored and then each incremental backup since the last full backup would be restored. A smaller organization might perform a full backup every night, or every night after a regular work day. In this situation, if there is a disk failure, then the previous night's full backup would be used for the restore.
