The general steps for restoring a GPO are:
1. Open the Group Policy Management MMC snap-in.
2. Navigate the tree in the left pane to find the Group Policy Objects container under the domain name.
3. Right-click the Group Policy Objects container in the tree and click Manage Backups.
4. Use the Browse button and browse to where the Group Policy Objects are stored.
5. Select the Group Policy Object to restore from the list displayed under Backed up GPOs and click Restore.
6. Close the Manage Backups window.
7. Close the Group Policy Management tool.
