Describe two types of validity.
What will be an ideal response?
Face validity--a measure has face validity if, on the face of it, it seems to be a reasonable measure of the variable. Construct validity--determined by how well the measure of a variable fits into a theory. Content validity--to the degree that a measure assesses all the dimensions of the construct, it has content validity. Criterion validity--if a measure of behavior has criterion validity then it should correlate with another measure of the same kind of behavior. Predictive validity--if criterion validity has been demonstrated, we should be able to predict one measure by knowing the score of the other measure.
