How did economic competition and political dissatisfaction lead to the American Revolution?

What will be an ideal response?

England was a late-comer to overseas trade and colonies, behind Spain and France. The competition for overseas territories fueled conflict between European nations which was at times played out in the New World, as in the Seven Years' War. Britain also edged out the Dutch in both the implementation of the Navigation Acts as well as the seizure of New Amsterdam (becoming New York). Competition for the raw goods of Canada kept Britain and France at odds. Finally, the American colonists themselves, frustrated by Britain's attempt to limit their participation in a free market economy (rather than mercantilist relations with the mother country), as well as by their lack of political representation and voice over taxation, rebelled against Britain and initiated the American Revolution.
