What will be an ideal response?
During the time that Earl Warren was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (1953–1969) the Court handed down many decisions that focused on the rights of the defendant, expanding the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Fourteenth Amendment rights of the defendant. For example: Mapp v. Ohio (1961), Katz v. United States (1967), Gideon v. Wainright (1963), Escobedo v. Illinois (1964), Miranda v. Arizona (1966).
