Explain the difference between a technical standard and a quality standard
What will be an ideal response?
The basic intention of technical standards is to achieve a recognizable and acceptable level of quality in an industry. Standards help set common goals pertaining to quality that members of an industry strive to achieve, and in doing so facilitate communication between interacting parties. Enhancing communication to achieve quality in design and construction is one of the main purposes of standards. Factors of cost, materials of construction, and material specifications are the main elements of the requirements for standards, which in turn establish an acceptable level of quality. Quality standards could include issues such as environmental, health, and safety responsibilities.
