Specify the grade level at which you expect to be teaching, and identify which one of Erikson's psychosocial stages your students are likely to be in. Discuss the implication of this stage for your own teaching practice, illustrating your discussion with a concrete example of what you might do

What will be an ideal response?

Preschool students will probably be in the initiative versus guilt stage, elementary school students will be in industry versus inferiority, and secondary school students will be in identity versus role confusion. Implications for teaching students in the various stages are the following:
Initiative versus guilt
• Support students in their efforts to plan and carry out activities.
Industry versus inferiority
• Encourage students to make and do things.
• Praise students for their accomplishments.
Identity versus role confusion
• Provide opportunities to explore various career options.
• Provide opportunities to explore a variety of social and/or political belief systems.
The response should include a concrete strategy that reflects a recommendation for the appropriate age level, or something equally justifiable from the standpoint of Erikson's description of the relevant stage.
