Explain and define multimodal distribution and provide examples.

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: A multimodal distribution has more than one peak. A bimodal distribution has two peaks, and the trimodal distribution has three peaks. Multimodal distributions can occur when a population comprises two or more subpopulations. For example, if a population comprises the heights of people in an elementary school, one peak will correspond to the mean height of the adults (teachers and administration staff) and the other to the mean height of the students.
