What are some prerequisites for conducting objective testing in therapy?

What will be an ideal response?

Psychological tests can feel invasive and threatening, especially in sex therapy, where fear of
judgment and ridicule can be strong. Objective testing is necessary, but only after a client–therapist
relationship is established. The client must believe that the therapist won’t be judging his or her
sexuality and, instead, accept all sexual variations as legitimate. Even if a behavior is dangerous or self-
defeating, there will be no shaming and judgment. Also, the client must understand the purpose of the
test and the plan of the therapeutic process. In addition to that, the client should be offered the option
to have the results explained.
