Compare and contrast a context attribute with affective attributes.
What will be an ideal response?
Context attributes relate to the location of where the memory was established and where it will be recalled. For example, a person learns biochemistry in one room but needs to take the exam in a different room. If the person takes the biochemistry exam in the same room as they study, they will perform better. Affective attributes are related to the emotional character of the event. For example, if a person is happy while they are studying and happy while taking the exam, they will perform better. Thus, changing mood states will have impacts on forgetting. However, if they are happy while studying and depressed while taking the exam, there will perform worse than if they were happy.
