It is argued that using existing data a researcher can easily do replication of studies. What is meant by replication? Discuss the purpose of replication and how this is done?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: Replication of a study can happen in two ways: (1) by collecting primary data that are exactly like the original study but in a different population or in a different location to see whether the findings hold true and (2) by utilizing secondary data by simply collecting additional information that may be missing from the original study. In the first case, researchers may be intrigued by the findings of the original study (either ours or another researcher’s), and in order to further advance knowledge on the topic, they may want to replicate the study with another population group or at another location after some time has passed.
