Compare and contrast quantitative and categorical independent variables. Give at least one example of each one.

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: Both quantitative and categorical independent variables are variables that cannot be manipulated. Quantitative independent variables are those that involve some number or quantity. They include things like test scores, amounts of money, age, and the number of problems solved during a period of time. Categorical independent variables are present when the researcher views the independent variable as a categorical variable. Examples of categorical independent variables frequently seen in nonexperimental research include gender, racial/ethnic group, ability level, and disease status.
