Compare Figure 13-3 and Figure 13-4. Where do they differ? Do they have any areas of agreement?
What will be an ideal response?
Only red, blue, green yellow and white appear in both tables, so the differences listed here will only compare these five colors. ”Arab” and “Egypt” are similar but not equivalent in terms of culture, so we’ll not compare those parts of the two tables. The same can be said about France/Western Europe. For China, there are varying degrees of differences for red, blue, green and yellow. For India, there is not good agreement on red or green.
In the China, Japan and India columns, there is some agreement in the meaning of the color white, which means death in all three cultures. Also, there is good agreement for all five colors for Japan.
