Satir (1972) developed five stages of treatment. Please provide two of these.

What will be an ideal response?

-Establish trust with the family. In making contact with the family, the therapist develops an assessment and treatment plan early to gain the confidence of the family.
-Develop individual family member awareness experientially. The therapist helps families to increase their awareness of their functioning.
-Create new understandings in family members using a series of techniques.
-Have family members state and apply their newly found understandings of the family and their roles within it.
-Ask family members to use the new behaviors outside the therapeutic setting, a behavior that Satir referred to as integration.
