Maria is not very motivated to do her college level work. If you were a behaviorist, how would you help Maria get motivated?
What will be an ideal response?
Behaviorists believe we are motivated by consequences. I would help Maria identify rewards that are meaningful to her. I would then encourage her to set up a study schedule that built in these rewards to keep her motivation high. For example, after she studies for 45 minutes, she could take a 15 minute break doing the reward activity she identified.
