What are the two primary goals of WMANs?
What will be an ideal response?
To extend the reach of existing wired networks beyond a single location without the expense of deploying and maintaining high-speed copper or optical cable infrastructure.
To extend user mobility throughout a metropolitan area. An important additional benefit of a WMAN is that it can provide high-speed connections, including Internet, to areas not serviced by any other method of connectivity. Such connectivity can encompass metropolitan areas, expanding to small towns nearby, as well as to remote locations not usually serviced by high-speed communications lines.
