Explain why the permeability values of air and water vapor through a component are not equal to each other.

What will be an ideal response?

The air and vapor (the two gases) exert their own independent pressures on the enclosure surfaces and because the permeability of a gas through a component is directly related to the pressure it exerts on the component, the air permeability and vapor permeability of a component are unequal.
