Imagine that a protein molecule is to be exported from a cell. Describe the pathway that the protein takes from the point of synthesis to export
What will be an ideal response?
A protein to be exported is synthesized by a ribosome on the rough endoplasmic reticulum. From there it travels via transport vesicle to the Golgi apparatus for processing. From the Golgi apparatus it travels, again via vesicle, to the plasma membrane for release outside the cell.
