Explain how a child's social environment affects development
The social environment includes a child's experiences with the people around him or her. If a child is treated with love and concern, he or she will learn that the world is a friendly place. If a child is not cared for, or experiences anger and abuse, the child may learn that the world is a hostile place and may have difficulty trusting others.
