What will be an ideal response?
Formal networks are both prescribed and sanctioned by the workplace and occur through downward communication (such as a superior to a subordinate), upward communication (such as a subordinate to a superior), and horizontal communication (such as peer to peer). Informal networks are established through the social interactions that occur between coworkers and are not sanctioned by the organization but often emerge through ritualized or mundane organizational activities. Gossip is a form of informal communication.
