• Describe and model effective strategies (e.g., by explaining what verbal mediation is and by providing examples of how to use it to connect French words with their meanings).
• Conduct an "experiment" in class in which students study some course material using a relatively ineffective strategy (e.g., rehearsal) and then study other material using a more effective strategy
