What is the difference between an endotherm and an ectotherm?
What will be an ideal response?
Ectotherms regulate their body temperature behaviorally, by seeking sun when they need to warm up and shade when they need to cool down. The body temperature of ectotherms varies somewhat, in response to environmental conditions. Endotherms maintain a constant and relatively high body temperature by breaking down large amounts of food. When organic molecules are broken down to make ATP, energy is lost to the environment as heat. This energy helps warm the body.
