Network members advocate and act upon shared ideas, positions, or goals, and they make choices to protect, defend, and advance those shared notions. So while the component parts that make up TANs are unique actors in their own right, when they join into such networks to pursue shared goals in a cooperative enterprise, they create a new entity entirely.
