Briefly describe current research findings with regard to lesbian and gay relationships
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Findings suggest that gay and lesbian relationships are quite similar to heterosexual relationships. Gay men describe a successful relationship in the same way as a heterosexual couple would describe a successful relationship. Gay and lesbian couples seek high levels of attachment, caring, intimacy, affection, and respect. The age gradient in hetero and homosexual relationships is the same. Gay men prefer a partner who is the same age or younger. There is virtually no scientific data regarding gay and lesbian marriage since the first legal homosexual marriage occurred in the U.S. in 2004.
