Can you use some devices to transmit data directly to BS while others using relay stations in LTE-A?
What will be an ideal response?
The signal strength in the boundary area of LTE-A technology may be quite weak and to enhance the coverage close to the outer regions, relay stations are employed to act as a secondary Base Station. This helps in enhancing the quality of signal and could even expand the coverage area. Here, the relay stations act as a secondary BS and a mobile user may be connected to the BS or the relay station, depending on its relative location in the area. In such a situation, if the BS can only do authentication, then the user connected to a relay station have to get authentication by the BS via the relation station. Therefore, some scheme need to be devised which can delegate authentication operation to even the relation station.
