Discuss the human equivalent of the SDN-POA. How does it differ in regard to sexual orientation?

What will be an ideal response?

The human equivalent of SDN-POA consists of a cluster of neurons in the preoptic area of the human hypothalamus known as the INAH-1. Three additional clusters, INAH-2, INAH-3, and INAH-4, have been identified in the human brain. INAH-2 and INAH-3 are about twice as large in males as in females. Simon LeVay asked whether INAH-3 might be different in heterosexual and homosexual men. Lesions of INAH-3 in monkeys impair heterosexual behavior but do not affect overall sex drive, as indicated by rates of masturbation. He found that INAH-3 was two to three times larger in heterosexual men than in homosexual men.
