Explain the differences, advantages, or disadvantages of electronic claims submission versus billing with paper claims.
What will be an ideal response?
Electronic submission offers editing features to make sure the claim is “clean,” or free of errors, and meets the standard of each insurance carrier. Payment turnaround is much faster, usually 7 to 14 days, and may include electronic transfer of payments directly to bank accounts. Paper claims will need to be printed and sent by regular mail to the insurance carrier. Payment will take considerably longer and tracking of the claims is more challenging.
