Briefly discuss why it is important for sociologists to define health in mental and social factors.

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: Varies. It is important for sociologists to put an emphasis on the mental aspect of health because having a positive sense of soundness is just as important as being physically fit and physiologically healthy. Having a positive sense of soundness and not having a troubled mind is important for individuals’ overall well-beings. Moreover, examining the social environment one lives in can have an impact on someone’s physical well-being but also have an impact on the person mentally as well because some social environments are harmful.
