What does GMT refer to and why are time and date stamps extremely important in tracking and tracing internet crimes?

What will be an ideal response?

GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time (the International Time and Date Standard). Because each address is assigned to an owner, IP addresses can be traced back to whatever company controls a given IP address number. Naturally this can be exploited by a qualified investigator to find the source of the transmission. Because many Internet users have dynamic IP addresses that can change from day to day, or even hour to hour, the date and time of the violation become extremely important.
