List and define the three type of conflicts that exist within an organization

What will be an ideal response?

These types are interpersonal, intragroup, and intergroup (Rahim, 2001).
Interpersonal conflict refers to that conflict that occurs between two or more people that
may or may not have to do with organizational tasks or task related feelings.
Interpersonal conflict is similar to the conflict that would occur in relationships outside of
the organization.
Intragroup conflict, sometimes referred to as intradepartmental conflict, occurs among
members of a group, often between subgroups that have interdependence in terms of
goals, tasks, and procedures. This type of conflict can occur when individuals within a
group disagree on how best to solve a problem or approach a task and the group divides
into sides because of this disagreement.
Intergroup conflict, or interdepartmental conflict, occurs when two or more units or
groups within an organization disagree over a specific task, behavior, or procedure. The
well known example of intergroup conflict would be the conflict that occurs between
labor and management.
