Discuss the formation, physical characteristics, and typical precipitation patterns of thunderstorms

What will be an ideal response?

Rapidly rising warm, moist air fuels a thunderstorm. As air rises, cools, and condenses, it forms clouds and precipitation. These results in the releases of energy, which locally heats the air, causing violent updrafts and downdrafts as rising parcel of air pull surrounding air in to the column and the frictional drag of raindrops pulls air toward the ground. A great deal of turbulence and wind shear develops. Heavy precipitation, lightening, thunder, hail, and even tornadic activity can result.
