What is riparian vegetation, and why is it important to life in the desert biome?
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Riparian desert is the vegetation occurring along streams. The greater amount of water (soil moisture and groundwater) available to plants makes for a greater diversity of life and greater biomass than in the upland surroundings. Deserts are very dry except for riparian area so these areas become the focus of floral and faunal activity.
