Describe the production of pollen
What will be an ideal response?
Specialized diploid cells in the anthers' pollen sacs undergo meiosis produce four haploid microspores. Each develops a tough, complex cell wall. Inside each microspore, the haploid nucleus divides mitotically, producing two cells. One of these cells will become the pollen tube, which acts during pollination, the other cell divides again by mitosis and becomes the two sperm (the male gametes).
