How did the America Invents Act make it easier for the true owner of an invention (for example, IBM) to file a patent application?

What will be an ideal response?

Until the AIA was enacted, applications could only be filed by the actual inventor (who was always an individual). Thus, even if an employer was the true owner of the invention, the inventor himself or herself had to file the application. Under the AIA, an application may be filed by the assignee of the invention (or one to whom the inventor has an obligation to assign), making it easier for the true owner of an invention, often an employer, to file the application.
