What will be an ideal response?
If a teacher relies strictly on readability formulas in placing a student in a book he is inadvertently reducing the child to a number. The right book requires considering a much wider range of criteria. The background knowledge of the student matters, as the organization and coherences of the text. With all text the vocabulary level is important and with fiction the use of figurative language must also be considered. Finally, the length of the text should be considered. Some students can read a 150-page book and other only have the confidence for a short picture book.
