Describe at least one disadvantage of the interpretivist approach to communication.

One disadvantage of the interpretivist approach involves believing the researcher. If people view things differently, who is to say that the researcher’s observations and conclusions are accurate? Researchers using interpretivist methods may import their own values and understanding when studying the communication of others. (Other disadvantages are its limited scope of understanding and time-consuming process.)
