Is penis size important or not?

What will be an ideal response?

is not expected to give one final answer but to discuss aspects of penis size
and its effects.
The importance of penis size is mostly culturally determined, as it is often treated as a symbol of
masculinity and power. Therefore, a man with a smaller penis can feel in lack of these qualities and,
therefore, less worthy; penis size is strongly connected to male identity. It is not rare that a small penis
is used as a way to discredit someone, to disqualify someone as a person.
However, although most men experience at least some concern over penis size, it is found that women’s
pleasure is not attenuated if a man has small penis, and it is often shown that women consider other
characteristics when judging male attractiveness (e.g., height and shoulder-to-hip ratio). Most of the
women are satisfied with their partners’ penis size, with only 6% considering it too small. On the other
hand, 12% of men believe that they have small penises, and 45% want to have larger penis. Research
has also shown that females prefer wider, not longer, penises.
Since it appears that in many cases, penis size is more of a constructed issue, therapists are concerned
with male perceptions and rarely with actual penis size.
