Explain the northern Renaissance
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Students should discuss that virtually all European countries were involved, especially after the invention of the printing press. France, England, Sweden, Hungary, Poland, and others are mentioned in the chapter. A balanced treatment of the different contributors should be sought. Students will be inclined to emphasize those figures that somehow seem familiar. This would limit the scope of the northern Renaissance and distort its influence on the whole of Western civilization.
