Explain why it is important for you as a prospective teacher to understand learners with exceptionalities

What will be an ideal response?

Because of inclusion, you as a regular classroom teacher now play a central role in helping students with exceptionalities learn and develop to their full potential. This process begins with identification, an important first step in understanding and diagnosing learning problems. Following identification, classroom teachers collaborate with special educators and other support personnel to design and implement the IEP. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, classroom teachers adapt instruction to meet the learning needs of students with exceptionalities.
