Explain the relationship between deforestation, desertification, and global climate change.

What will be an ideal response?

forests help to generate rain in their vicinity and also prevent soil erosion. Deforestation of an area results in less moisture in the air and a ground surface that is harder, meaning it absorbs less rain and reflects more heat. This causes the area to become warmer and drier, which can lead to it converting into a desert. Cutting down trees also contributes to global climate change, because trees absorb carbon dioxide, and the increasing amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is one of the main factors driving global warming.
