The use of technology is already commonplace within the correctional industry. However, it is the effectiveness of technology that will determine its usefulness and if it is worth the cost. Technology is becoming increasingly reliable and also more affordable for state agencies. Technology can also save on the amount spent on human resources. Thus, technology will continue to be a driving force that will shape the landscape of correctional services in the future.
