Wendy practices yoga regularly, and complains that she feels pain in some of the stretches, but just pushes past it. What would you say to her to explain how much pain she should feel, and why?
Never push yourself through the range of a stretch to a point where you feel pain. A feeling of slight muscle pulling is okay, but pain is never a good thing when doing yoga. If you feel pain, the tissue is sending a message that it is being pulled or pushed too far. That leads to injuries and also fear connected to that pose in the future.
