Explain the importance of trust between a patient and health care professional
Trust is an important ethical ingredient. A patient who trusts the health care professional will be more cooperative with the therapy and more forthcoming with information. Trust can be developed in several ways. You should be careful in handling the patient's personal belongings. You should follow your organization's policy and procedure in this matter. Patients trust you to be dependable and meet their needs in a timely fashion (i.e., have their therapy, bath, and food tray on time). This enhances trusting relationships.
